Discussion for Chapters 1-3

Alright all! The first chapters are ready to roll. In the next 10 days, please push yourselves to do the reading in order to fully participate and engage in discussion. 


Some questions/thoughts to consider: 

• Have you ever felt that you were at a disadvantage because you weren't 'rich' or didn't have the 'right connections'? How did you deal with this? What changed you or put you on a path toward success? (a mentor, a book,  a program?) 
• What was your favorite idea (from any chapter)? Did anything come up that you haven't thought of before? 
• We all want to get ahead, but how specific are your goals? 
• What would you say was your favorite quote(s) and why? 

One of my favorite lines is found on page 7:
"Success in any field, but especially in business, is about working with people, not against them."

Now that finals are over, let's get the ball rolling! I hope that you have all picked up Never Eat Alone. If you haven't please do so no later than the launch of the book club - Wednesday, May 30, 2012. The last discussion should be finished before or by Tuesday, August 28, 2012

There are a few general guidelines I'd like to share with you all before we begin:

• We will be reading and discussing 3 chapters every 10 days. (Schedule can be found below) 
• One post with discussion questions will be posted in which everyone will post their thoughts, feedback, questions, or something they'd like to ask the rest of the group. Please sign your name at the end of each post to ensure we know who we all are. 
• You don't have to answer each question that is posted. You may pick and choose, or bring up your own thoughts, ideas, feedback on the chapter we are reading. The questions are to encourage discussion. 
• If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. You each should have my cell number by now, you may also email me at: emilymelissa90@gmail.com 

There aren't many rules, just some basic rules to encourage discussion. Please feel free to share the online book club to anyone you feel might benefit.

Very excited to having you as a part of my first book club. My goal is to grow with each of you and create support and a sense of community. Semester is over, and the Summer will go by as fast as Spring Semster has. Let's take advantage!

I recommend calling in and having them order the book for you, so they can have it in stock. You may also purchase from www.amazon.com, but I was so upset with the closure of Borders Bookstore, that I now purchase the vast majority of books at local bookstore.
